Longtime Ventura County residents Mark and Julie Monro decided to start a family-run roofing business as a direct result of their own experience as homeowners needing to deal with outdated shingles.
The semi-retired couple, parents of four children and grandparents of three, saw their lives change dramatically during the summer of 2024.
Mark Monro explains: "We got a letter from our insurance company telling us we had to install a brand new shingle roof or we would lose our insurance. Well, that didn't sit right with us. After investigating and finding a typical new shingle roof would cost us more than $25,000 we decided to research more."
It just so happened that shortly prior to getting the notice, they had seen an advertisement on TV about Roof Maxx — professional workers spraying a soy-based solution on a shingle roof with the tagline: "Think you need a new roof? Think Again! Save up to 80% vs. a new shingle roof replacement."
Not necessarily looking for a new career — having already founded VoiceTel of Southern California in the 1990s, FreshSuccess in the early 2000s, and headed construction lending for Washington Mutual Bank and U.S. Bank — Mark preferred to remain semi-retired. Until Roof Maxx came around.
"We then found out most of the dealers across the United States were long-time roofers and that 'Shark Tank's' Kevin Harrington invested in Roof Maxx. We thought there must be something to this fast growing company, called a 'disruptor' to the roofing industry by many roofing trade publications and Forbes and Inc. magazine. So we decided to jump in and become Roof Maxx dealers in the Ventura County area."
Grandparents Mark and Julie liked what Roof Maxx had to offer so much that they bought into the business along with their son, Spencer, and his wife, Rosie, both 34-year-olds who recently became new parents. The extended family are all proud area residents, supporters of veterans, and eager to help other families with their home roofing issues.
"Roof Maxx provides a safe, cost-effective solution to keeping your roof longer than having to replace it entirely," says Mark. "Our patented product helps your roof rejuvenate itself by being absorbed back into the shingle, thus giving it the original flexibility and elasticity back."
Backed by a strong national company and five-year guarantee, Roof Maxx can help homeowners save thousands on their roofing needs.
"We would be honored to provide a roof assessment for free and determine if Roof Maxx is right for you."
